In conjunction with local recycling initiative Save-All, the Neighbourgoods Market now has a full-service recycling depot on site, where members of the local community can bring their pre-sorted recyclables down for collection. Every Saturday from 9AM - 2PM.

Electronic Equipment

Footprints, a non-profit centre in Wynberg, will dispose of computer monitors and televisions for a R7 disposal fee. Working equipment is rebuilt and/or serviced for use in education and community organisations.

Abundance Recycling offers the unique service of collecting waste from the home on a weekly basis and delivering it to the Oasis Recycling Depot, where people with intellectual disabilities are given an opportunity to work and gain a sense of self worth. Many of the 365 adults currently working there are primary breadwinners. The project currently recovers 140 tons of waste per month, which is a substantial saving of landfill space.

Freecycle Network
The Freecycle NetworkT is a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people around the world who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer. Mr Recycle
Mr Recycle takes the bother out of recycling. They offer an independent recycle collection service to businesses and households in Gordon’s Bay, Strand and Somerset West (Helderberg Basin, Western Cape). Glass, tin (cans), plastic, paper and cardboard are all recyclable and can be collected. Cost per household collection is R20; costs for collection from businesses vary.
